This poster focuses on the idea of luring. This bad individual/figure (a demon or the devil) holds a lollipop as its tactic to lure in a victim; in this case children. The lollipop also plays as a hypnotic spiral to emphasize the idea. A snake is hidden within showing that this particular candy is not safe to eat. “FAUX PROMISES” refers to the promises or deal that the lurer will say in order to convince the victim (money, food, care, etc.) The word “FAUX” refers to faux candy which is fake candy that is often hand-made for props and decor.

Human trafficking is both scary and damaging, which provoke two emotions: fear and anger. The illustration I created depicts a lion screaming. Screaming is a way to express fear and anger. And a lion is a powerful symbol. Even though the lion in the poster looks desperate, it is also powerful. It is a lion! I hope people around the world can stand out and resist human trafficking. If people scream and resist human trafficking, people are getting powerful.

As an observer of human trafficking cases, I am very sad to see cases of human trafficking continue to occur. This poster design I created was inspired by a film, which tells the story of a victim of human trafficking who wants to be free soon. The freedom in this poster design is depicted with a person running on the key of the handcuffs. Coupled with red in the background, it gives the impression of energy and courage, courage to be free from the bondage of human trafficking.

The scattered puzzle pieces put together form the whole. The puzzle pieces are like every family member in the family, only when the puzzle returned to their place is complete.
Every family member is drawn on each puzzle, one of the puzzles is not where it should be, which symbolizes her being abducted by human traffickers. The black puzzle symbolizes the shadow in the hearts of all family members.
The color of the poster is black, white and gray, which embodies sadness and loss of life.
Because more cases are children being trafficked, the design is also considered from the perspective of children, not only adults can understand, but also children are interested in understand and think.

I wanted to do something that depicted both a visual and meaningful representation of reaching out and saving someone in need, so I took inspiration and reference from Michaelangelo’s “Creation of Adam.” I added cracks to the lower hand to give it a stone-like appearance to hint the inherent inescapability of the human trafficking epidemic.
