“Play the music” | Greece
If the world was a stereo and Jamaica was a cassette, then there would be only the sound of love playing NON STOP.
If the world was a stereo and Jamaica was a cassette, then there would be only the sound of love playing NON STOP.
BOB MARLEY、Lion of Judah、the three colours of the Ethiopian flag、earth.
All about these Reggae symbols gathered convey the image of reggae walking the world.
Reggae Music plays a big part in people’s life in Jamaica. D J Squeegee whose house only can fit a queen-size bed. He has a big dream. He wants to play Reggae Music to inspire people who travel to Jamaica and helping his community. Inside his house, the background posters show his interest from Mickey Mouse, dancehall girls, Bob Marley, 50 cents, Movado to his family photos.
The inspiration behind this poster comes from my love and admiration of the Jamaican Soundsystem and it’s massive influence around the world. The messages that a Soundsystem brings to the dance are not only the local issues but universal in nature, sometimes it can be musical, political, or spiritual. The dj as the word. The selector as the sound. The soundsystem as the power.
Arouse the truth, kindness and beauty in the innermost heart, disseminate positive energy!
With the Sound-systems power I would like to send a message of Love and Unity that sounds from Jamaica to the world.
The idea behind this poster is an attempt to capture the essence of Reggae culture and its footprint in all 4 corners of the world. Creating a surreal character allowed me to combine various elements from the Jamaican music history. All these elements together as a character that travels the world and spreads the message of reggae music!
This poster is talking about the brotherhood, as a message that the jamaican music sing. The world is one and the humanity must be a big brotherhood, whithout differences or racism.
