My poster depicts the identity of reggae music filled with love and courage through the symbols of a lion, guitar, heart with colors that represent the energetic and joyful Jamaican community. Through his songs Bob Marley voiced love to others with courage against oppression, greed, discrimination and injustice. This is a message from Jamaica delivered to the world, until now Bob Marley’s songs have inspired the world community.
Poster is an abstract geometrical composition that celebrates the energy, positive vibes, cultural variety and african heritage of reggae music. The artistic direction communicates and brings avant-garde/bauhaus’ modernism and reggae together.

The classical hand sign of peace with the three representative colors of reggae and expressive strokes, as a strong representation of the spirit of the reggae movement: peace, kindness, humanity. Over this hand, Bob Marley’s three little birds are hanging out.

With this work I wanted to reflect several aspects of life on the island that reggae music expresses in its songs, as well as influences, problems and spirituality in culture.
