Roy Villalobos is a graphic designer and visual artist, born in Chicago, IL. At age of 10 his family decided to relocate to their roots in the city of San Luis Potosi, Mexico were he studied a BFA in Graphic Design in the Habitat Faculty, Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi. Mexico. Since 12 years ago he lives in Chicago, IL. working as a freelancer graphic designer, much of his projects are within a cultural and social context targeting the Hispanic community. Has created corporate images poster designs and commission illustrations for the private sector such as Coca Cola Co. Other commission is the design of the “Coa Illuminates Trophy” for the Tequila 3 Generaciones Co. Roy has been invited and honored to be part as a jury in international poster contests like “Green + You” in South Korea and “Escucha mi Voz” in Mexico. His art and graphics have been published in national and international books and magazines. Logical Unsanity Magazine (Australia) Latitudes Magazine (USA), Hybrid Magazine (New England) Icono Magazine,(Mexico), Green+You International Poster Design Book (South Korea). Roy is also a surrealist painter and muralist, his four public murals have been recognized in the city public art movement and in the private sector. He was awarded first place in a national mural art contest for Heineken Co. (2006). In the past 5 years served as an art teacher for The Northeastern University’s Chicago Teachers Center.
